My name is Amy, I'm about 3 stone overweight and am pretty unfit.
I can jog at a slow pace for about 2 minutes before being pretty out of breath, but decided last summer it would be a good idea to enter the Flora London Marathon.
It's still about a month away before I find out whether I got accepted for the marathon or not, but I've decided that it's about time I get a bit fitter regardless of whether I am entered or not.
My first aim is to be able to jog at a good pace for one mile without being shattered afterwards. No, that isn't a long distance, but it's a good start and, as they say, every journey begins with a single step.
I'm yet to come up with a training schedule, route map, idea of where to buy some running shoes and how much I should expect to pay, and all the other bits and bobs needed to get in shape.

I'm hoping to update this blog a couple times a week to update how it is going, I'd appreciate any tips, advice, or other blogs that I could take a look at.
